Dalton Local Schools

    On May 4 , 2013 the Dalton High School Class of 2014 sponsored a junior senior prom.  The theme was “Masquerade”. The evening started with a Grand March taking place at Dalton High School beginning at 6pm. Approximately 56 couples were seen by a large crowd that attended.  Vehicles driven through the March consisted of a firetruck, a motorcycle, a tractor, and many old and new cars. After the Grand March the students proceeded to the Kidron Community Center for a dinner Catered by Top of the Via Duct and then a dance with DJ GSoundz .    “I think it will open our eyes to distractive driving”, said Jillian Saurer, a senior at Dalton High School, about the mock car crash on April 26, 2013 that the Dalton Police Department help organize. The demonstration showed the dangers of drinking, and texting while driving. Drama students at the high school, Bryanna Knopp, Ben Torgler, Jason Reinhardt, Ciarra Knopp, Kirsten Drew, and Cody Kelly participated in the crash scene to reenact injuries and deaths that might occur at an actual crash scene. . . . read more

  Usually it’s not till high school that children start to realize their potential…unless they’re Jeremy Lun, that is. Jeremy, a seventh grader at Dalton Intermediate, entered the Wayne County Bee, a spelling bee designed for middle school students to participate in with a wide variety of fellow classmates.
